As the school year draws to a close, and the summer sun sets in, more Helston Schools have been competing in their annual sports days.
Porthleven School’s sports day was also a success and the children competed in a variety of events including javelin, a beanbag race and a family relay.
The house winners can not yet be announced as the reception and years one and two classes have not yet competed, so the points gained by each house will roll over to their sports day.
The school secretary said: “The day went very well, and the rain luckily held off! It was great to see so many parents supporting their children.”
Godolphin Primary School also held an event involving beanbags – the entrants had to throw a bean into a basket, and race to place one inside a hoop. They also held a obstacle race, and some of the adults even joined in!
A skipping race was one of the events Nansloe Junior School had lined up for its pupils, who also took part in a race in which the participants had to crawl through a tunnel made by team members legs and join the front of the tunnel.
