Discovered buried treasure hidden in the heart of Helston with the help of one of the town’s theatre groups.
Helston Theatre Company is hoping to banish the post-Christmas blues with their annual New Year pantomime, which this year will be Treasure Island – a tale of pirates and buried gold, based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson.
The January show will feature a cast of actors from the town as well as dancers from Helston’s Teresa Blee Dance Limited dance school.
Julie Pilkington plays Jim Hawkins, Chris Andrews is Long John Silver and Nikki Roberts is Jack.
Chris Malton plays Dame Sally Forth, with Becky Johns as Mary and Emma Bushnell as Ben Gunn.
A newcomer to panto, Nathaniel Painter, teams up with Avril Plunkett as the comedy duo Roger and Pugh.
Margaret Flinders is directing the show, helped by Ethel Collins and Luke Mills as musical directors.
It will held at the Epworth Hall from Wednesday, January 20 to Saturday, January 23 with nightly performances at 7.30pm and a 2.30pm matinee on the final day.
This year’s ticket prices have been reduced to £7.50 for adults and £5 for children. They can be bought from Heathercraft Fabrics in Coinagehall Street or by calling 568936.
