Children from a Porthleven pre school have been busy fundraising to help ShelterBox’s disaster relief effort in Haiti.
The toddlers from First Steps and Blues Club have done all sorts of sponsored activities to help the Helston-based charity including den-building, dancing, cake baking and bike rides, as well as a visit from a ShelterBox representative.
Deputy manager Dawn Page said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about the contents of the box. We would like to thank ShelterBox for coming and allowing the children to sit in the boxes and go in the tents.
“We would also like to thank our parents and carers for their generous donations. So far we have raised £250 with more still to come.”
She added that although the children were small, the pre school had been talking about Haiti and earthquakes in their curriculum so that the children understood.
