Mullion’s Gulls Theatre Group will take to the stage for a mini One-Act Play Festival this February.

The company will perform three plays, all roughly 30 minutes long, at Mullion Comprehensive School on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 17, 18 and 19 February at 7.30 pm.

The plays will be Uncle Sid, written by Gulls founder Mary Druce, Last Tango in Little Grimley and Last Panto in Little Grimley, both by David Tristram.

Mary said: “Uncle Sid, set in the 1950s, tells the story of a nice middle-class family who take in an aged and very awkward relative.

“The play was entered in a festival in Oxfordshire a few years ago and did quite well, so I’m hoping Cornish audiences will enjoy it too.

The play will use the talents of two of the groups younger actors, Chloe Spencer , aged 13 and Frank Regan aged 10.

The Little Grimley plays feature a tinpot amateur dramatic society, nothing like Gulls of course, who try very hard, but get everything horribly wrong.

The resulting chaos is ‘laugh-out-loud’ funny, and will appeal to all ages, said Mary.
