Proposals for a development in Porthleven incorporating in the region of 76 homes will be on display to the public today, (September 21).
Rowe Farming wants to speak to the public before putting in a planning application for the development, which they propose to carry out on land near Shrubberies Hill.
While no set figure has been put on the number of homes that the company hopes to build, a proposal for 76 has been drawn up, as well as schemes for more and less homes.
In each scheme, 40 per cent of the homes would be affordable – making it the largest affordable housing development proposal currently on the table in West Cornwall, it is thought. Rowe Farming will be meeting the |public by appointment tomorrow (Thursday), before holding an “open house” style consultation on Friday at Porthleven Public Hall.
Representatives will be there between noon and 6pm, when anyone can pop in to discuss the proposals and give their |views.
Mark Rowe, a director of Rowe Farming, said: “The Rowe family take the consultation over these proposals very seriously, as we believe that it is important to provide local communities with the chance to view, discuss, and comment on the proposals before a planning application is submitted.
“The planned public exhibition will be an opportunity for the local community to view and comment on the plans for this exciting new development. “I would encourage anyone with an interest in this site to come along on Friday to have a look at what we are proposing and have a chat with members of the team.”
