METHODISTS: The reader’s service on Sunday entitled “Weathering life’s storms” was written by the Rev Philip Williams. It was conducted by stewards Edward Hengist and Jacqui Miler with readings from Nicky Lawrence and Dick Brunwin. There were two poems, one read by Edward entitled “Lord of my Days” by the Rev Frank Topping and the other “Ahead of his time” a poem about peace being the best Christmas present by Robert Ben-Nathan, read by Nicky.

Finally a solo from Valerie Wallace “Be Content” accompanied by Mavis Harper. A very nice service enjoyed by all.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY: The Remembrance Service on Sunday starts at 10.50am at the Memorial continuing in the Methodist Chapel at 11am. It will be conducted by Elsie Balme from Porthleven. Villagers are invited to attend this very important occasion.

A FOND FAREWELL: Violet Body, a resident in Godolphin for over 50 years, is relocating to Bedfordshire to live with her daughter, Jennifer. With the feeling she is not getting any younger and not so agile, the move would seem to be a sensible one – but she says she is going to miss everyone tremendously.

The longest serving member of Godolphin WI and a stalwart of the Thursday coffee morning, she will indeed be missed in the village. She wishes to thank everyone for their cards and good wishes and the friendship and kindness shown over the years.

So good luck Violet and perhaps we can look forward to Jennifer brining you back for a visit next summer.
