The preacher at Sunday morning’s Remembrance service was Denis Bassett, a retired farmer from Helston.

The children were informed why the Royal British Legion uses the poppy to raise money for their charity work. When the teachers took the children downstairs, prayers were said in keeping with the occasions of conflict since 1914 including the terrible loss which still goes on and on. All stood for the two-minute silent tribute. The preacher read the scripture readings. He shared many short, true stories of World War II, memories of events of the schoolboy he was at the time. Music Corner, at the beginning of the service, comprised Paul Jenkin, Mary Louise Combellack, Megan Jenkin, Lily Harrington and Peter Benney. The evening preacher at Breaney was Ann Moyle, the organist was Paul Benney with Sarah Fuller (guitar). Ann used a reading from Hebrews chapter 10 as the call to worship. Scripture readings came from The Book of Esther.

After the end of the service, there was a short sesson of prayer.
