C OF E SCHOOL: Thank you to Miss Burgess who has kindly provided Red Class with an incubator and ten eggs which we are hoping will all hatch into little chicks! The incubator was set up last week – we are now on 21 day cycle. Nearer the time we will hear noises coming from the shells! All of the children will have an opportunity to see the incubator, hear the developing chicks and handle the chicks when they hatch!

BREANEY METHODIST: The congregation were stunned to hear that John Rickard had died suddenly, our prayers go out to his widow and family.

The former Circuit Minister, the Rev Stephen Bales, was our preacher for the morning service, with Paul Jenkin (organist), Mary Louise Combellack (flute), Peter Benney (drums) and Paul Coombs (bongos).

The Lenten Cross presentation of bowl and towel was by mother and daughter Jeanette Roberts and Helen Jenkin, all the music and words came from Songs of Fellowship. Mr Bales, for the benefit of the youngsters (and others) spoke about visiting a maze and how some can be low hedges, whilst others are higher than the human traffic, trying to proceed in and out of the puzzle set to a designers plan.

Our preacher prayed for those in the Sunday School and their families, before they went downstairs. Helen Jenkin read Genesis chapter 12 v 1-4a and Trudy Addington read John chapter 3 v 1-17. Sermon time reminded the listeners that Abram was informed by Almighty God to leave home and to be willing to go where he was led! Reference was also made of Moses told to construct a model snake fixed to the top of a staff hold it up high, so that all in the wilderness could be healed of snake bite by looking up. Mr Bales also said about God’s only Son was lifted up with arms outstretched to show His love to all. Prayers were said for those mourning, for the situation in Ukraine and the Russian show of military might, and other countries where Christians are persecuted for their beliefs. The offering was taken up by Valerie Searle. After the service it was coffee time downstairs prepared by Rosina and Peter Benney.

BREANEY CHAPEL: The Sunday evening services this month are planned as Local Church Arrangement. This week was shared worship with Stephanie Gordon. Her subject was Beatitudes, part of the Sermon on the Mount. Organist was Paul Jenkin with Mary Louise Combellack on flute, the songs and hymns came from Songs of Fellowship and Hymns and Psalms with readings from the gospel of Matthew. Peter Gordon gave a short talk from experience; prayers were said by Mike Trounson and Stephanie said prayers of intersession. On the screen were two short films off You Tube, one was photographs of American churches projected while an appropriate song was sung, the second a film of the Holy Land with Jesus teaching a crowd about the Beatitudes.

Sunday evening will be learning new songs.
