The bells rang out to welcome the congregation to the morning service on Sunday. The service was taken by the Rev Leslie Attwood and the music was played by Christine. Lessons were read by Chad and Sue who also read the prayers of intercession.

Fair trade tea and coffee was available before the service thanks to Shelia and Amanda. The silence at six service is held every Sunday evening. A Book of Remembrance is kept at the church and if you would like to have loved ones remembered on their anniversaries please write their names clearly in the book, which is kept at the back of the church. They will then be included on the prayer sheet and prayed for during the intercessions.

Wendy and Amanda held a delicious tea on Sunday afternoon for the launch in Crowan, of a book that it is hoped that people will read for the six weeks of Lent. The book is Simply Christian by Tom Wright. Tom Wright is a regular broadcaster on radio and television and has had over 40 books published. Although the tea party was very well attended, if anyone missed the opportunity to attend and would like to read the book over Lent, please see Wendy or Amanda. After Easter another tea party is planned where those who have read this book can get together again and exchange thoughts and opinions in an informal way. This year the church is fundraising to support research into Parkinson’s Disease. The next delicious Lenten soup lunch will be held on Friday at the parish rooms between noon and 1.30pm. Everyone is very welcome to enjoy a tasty lunch and support this worthy cause.

This year at the mini bazaar to be held on March 29 the competition will be for a Mother’s Day Card. This is open to adults and children and will be judged at 10am on the morning of the bazaar so entries will need to be brought in before 10am. There will be interesting stalls and raffles to enjoy and everyone is invited.
