On Sunday morning, Stephanie Gordon, vestry steward, made two announcements and welcomed Margaret Richardson on her second visit.

The music corner comprised Paul Jenkin, Mary Louise and Sara Fuller at the start of the service. This was a reader service and commenced with the Lenten Cross presentation with Paul Coombs and three young children, the subject “Judas and the money bag”.

Mrs Richardson showed the children a Holy Bible she was given in 1944 and before the children went down to Sunday school there were two songs from Songs of Fellowship.

All five hymns were from Hymns and Psalms. The service was written by the Rev R G G Stevenson entitled “The One Eyed Christian”. The first reading was from Revelation chapter 5v 6-14, the second Matthew chapter 5 v 27-30, plus two separate verses. Some of the advice given during the sermon include: See the world as light as God sees it, bad eyes don’t see the same view. The Christians have suffered persecution from the Roman oppressors, followed by the Jewish leaders at the very beginning of the Christian era, so on to this generation most National Leaders do not see with clear eyes. Paul Combellack took up the offering.

Coffee Time was in the hands of Penny Coombs and her young assistants.

The local church arrangements at the evening service was mainly about new songs in worship, Music Corner comprised of Paul Jenkin (organ), Sarah Fuller (guitar), Mary Louise and Megan (flutes). Sarah led at the beginning, Paul Combellack operated the songs on the screen, some well known lyrics and new tunes (with lovely photographic scenery as the background) - those who sing soon had the tunes sorted in their minds!

Mike Trounson brought inspirational stories and portions from the Holy Bible. The plans of man often get over ridden, not all planned could be fitted in. All in the theme of new tunes in worship. Sunday evening is planned to be a Taize service at 6pm.

Saturday is the last Saturday meal of the month club which costs £5.00 - Why not telephone Stephanie on 01326 564254 for more information.
