CROWAN CHURCH: The bells welcomed the congregation to the service on Sunday, Mothering Sunday. The morning service was taken by the Rev Debby Harvey from Camborne, chaplain to the deaf and hard of hearing. Chad played the music this morning and Lynne and Marcus read the lessons. Prayers of intersession were read by Gill. At the end of the service members of the congregation were given bunches of daffodils to celebrate Mothering Sunday.

Thanks were sent to all who supported the mini bazaar on Saturday. Also thanks to everyone who donated goods for sale and manned the stalls. The competitions to design a card for Mothers Day were well supported with a high standard of work. The bazaar made a wonderful total of £490 for church funds This Easter lilies will be placed on the altar in remembrance of loved ones. There is a list in the back of the church for names or please contact Tess to be included in this.

The annual parish council meeting is to be held on Tuesday, April 22 at 7pm in the parish rooms. All are invited to attend. This year the church is fundraising to support research into Parkinson’s Disease. The delicious Lenten lunches continue on Friday, April 4 between noon and 1.30pm. All welcome to enjoy a tasty lunch and support this good cause.

The Craft and Chatter group are working towards the next collection for the “fish and chip” babies. They are making hats, jumpers, teddy bears and cot blankets and are also looking to collect children’s toothbrushes, toothpaste and underwear. There will be collection box at the back of church. The next meeting is on Wednesday, April 9 at 7pm in the parish rooms.

PRAZE SHOW 2014: In reporting the Praze Show Annual Dinner last week it should have reported that Lady Iona Molesworth-StAubyn was Show President for the 200th anniversary show not Lady Mary Holborrow as stated. Apologies to all concerned.
