CROWAN CHURCH: The church was full to celebrate the wedding of Ria Toy and Paul Clemens on Saturday. The service was taken by the Rev Sharon Shelcroft.

The congregation welcomed the Rev John Eatock, who led the morning service on Sunday. The music was played by Christine and readers were Christine and Sue. Prayers of intercession were also read by Christine.

The Christening service was held on Sunday afternoon of Anyal Rose, baby daughter of Peter and Donna Barnes who was welcomed into the church family by the Rev Sharon. Morning tea or coffee will be served in the parish rooms at 10.15am before the service on Sunday where everyone is invited. The Meditation at Six evening service continues and everyone is welcome. The Mother’s Day card competition at the Mini Bazaar was well supported. Winners – Up to 3: Archie Allen. 4-7: Lewis Stephens. 8-11: Caitlyn Stephens. Adults: Eddie, Drym Valley Centre.

The church is supporting research into Parkinson Disease with Lenten Lunches. The delicious lunches, which have been well supported during Lent, finish Friday, when lunch will be served between noon and 1.30pm.

During Easter, lilies are to be placed on the altar in remembrance of loved ones. There is a book at the back of the church, or contact Tess if you would like to remember loved ones this way, at Easter.

A Vigal will be held between 9pm and Midnight on Maundy Thursday, April 17. The Good Friday Walk of Witness will leave the church at 6pm and walk to Praze Square, where a short service will be taken by Wendy Smith and the Cross will be placed on the Plan. There will be hot cross buns and tea and coffee to follow, held in Praze Institute. The church will be decorated for Easter on Saturday from 10am and donations of spring flowers are very welcome

NANCEGOLLAN VILLAGE HALL: An Easter Bingo evening is being held on Friday. Eyes down at 7.30pm and there will also be an Easter raffle.

On Saturday a Car Boot sale is taking place between 10.30am-1pm. Pasties and tea and coffee is available and for information or to book a table at £3, please ring 01209 832950.

SITHNEY COMMUNITY GROUP: Pebbles Ladies Group fun quiz night on March 17 was a great success and big thanks go to John Eddy the quiz master. Ten teams played and the results were: 1, Country Ladies; 2, Fine Day Mag in Nancegollan; 3, the Cober Comrades. Everyone had a great evening. The next meeting will be on April 16 at 7pm at Nancegollan village hall. This will be an interactive, have-a-go sugar craft demonstration. The evening will consist of a practical demonstration of cake decorating including modelling flowers and various techniques for creating wonderful cupcakes, after which the audience will have the opportunity to have a go. All materials and cakes will be provided. Please just bring an apron and £2 entry. This is open to all ladies. To ensure sufficient cakes etc, if possible, please email sithneycg@outlook.com.

A meeting was held on Thursday, March 27 to discuss the possibility of holding the group's first summer fayre. It all looks very promising and will hopefully take place sometime at the beginning of August. The next meeting is on April 24 at Sithney School from 7pm.
