METHODISTS: Members were pleased to be part of the circuit exhibition in Helston Methodist Chapel on Saturday. It was a good day with many people coming along to see the displays from each chapel in the Lizard and Mount’s Bay Methodist Circuit.

The steward’s service on Sunday, led by Edward Hengist and Jacqui Milner, was arranged by Nicky Lawrence as a pet’s service. Five dogs along with their owners were welcomed. There were photographs of pets not suitable for brining and some of pets that had passed away. It was a comprehensive service ranging from Noah’s Ark and stories from the dog’s owners to animals used in wars. There were readings from Nicky and Dick Brunwin and as Valerie Wallace was unable to attend, Mavis Harper recited the song she intended to sing “the story of the sparrows,” as it was so appropriate to the occasion.

The dogs who attended were Honey the golden Labrador, Molly the spaniel, Missy the terrier and Chihuahuas Harley and Bella – all very well behaved.

COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION: During the Easter break the association organised a mobile skate ramp in the school grounds. Children from the area came along during the day and enjoyed the facilities. The association is hoping to organise an activity during the school summer holiday – keep checking the village website for more details.
