The service on Sunday was conducted by Stephanie Gordon from Breage. She told the story of the Pentecost and the appropriate hymns were sung accompanied by Mavis Harper on the organ.

It was a pleasure to welcome Wendy and David Moore from Burton-on-Trent, who were on holiday and also Pauline Barnes niece, Julie Robinson. On Sunday the service with holy communion will be conducted by the Rev Beverley Turner.

WOW - Well the over 50s in Godolphin Cross discovered exactly what, on Wednesday, June 4 when they turned up at the Methodist schoolroom for a scrumptious afternoon tea. The event was organised by the Godolphin Cross Community Association. The children from the top year at Godolphin Primary School were the waiters and waitresses.

During the afternoon the children, accompanied by head teacher Lucy Wandless and class teacher Louisa Hughes, took time to sit and talk to the guests. Old village photographs and little known historical village facts were on display, including some provided by the school. The afternoon was a great success and ideas for the future events were suggested by the guests.

There will be a WOW event on September 17.

A massive thank you to everyone who took part, to those who gave their time and energy to help with planning and help on the day and to all who came and enjoyed the well supported afternoon. Newcomers to future events will be welcomed.
