BREAGE FAIR: The Fair was held on Saturday in lovely sunshine, or for some was it too hot!

BREANEY CHAPEL: Trinity Sunday was a reader’s service with Nicola Bicknell. Nigel Ferris was the vestry steward who welcomed everyone and also read additional notices. Music Corner comprised of Paul Jenkin, Mary Louise and Paul Coombs. Nigel operated the projector.

The service had been written by David Balme of Porthleven. Peter Gordon read the portions from Holy Scripture Job chapter 37 v 5-13 and from the New Testament Acts chapter 8 v 26-39. A Psalm was read by the congregation with the reader taking the leader’s part. We had a short session of silence.

The sermon was about water in the Bible including Noah and his family. The hymns were from Songs of Fellowship and Hymns and Psalms, some of which carried words about water.

It was good to see our friends back with us and Ione Pascoe also. There were prayers and a poem read. The offering was taken up by Peter and Valerie Searle prepared the refreshments.

The children made a Father’s Day gift in a simple but ingenious bag or basket with a scroll like list of things from the Holy Bible about fathers.

As mentioned last week there was no evening service at Breaney but a Circuit Service was held at Porthleven Methodist Church with the Rev Canon Steve Wild, chairman of the Cornwall District.
