CROWAN CHURCH: The congregation were called to church by the ringing of the bells on Sunday. The service was led by the Rev Dom. The music was played by Gerald and readers were Nick and Michelle. Prayers of intercessions were read by Amanda and Shelia, flowers were arranged by Christine. During the service the Rev Dom blessed a new payer book and a challis.

July 6 was Disability Sunday, a day to focus on disability. In Britain, one person in six lives with one or more of the recognised disabilities so it’s a topic for every church. The need to be welcoming to all reminded the Rev Dom of a prayer by Bishop Thomas Ken: O God make the door of this house wide enough to receive all who need human love and fellowship and a heavenly Father’s care, and narrow enough to shut out all envy, pride and hate. Make its threshold smooth enough to be no stumbling-block to children, nor to straying feet, but rugged enough to turn back the tempter’s power: make it a gateway to thine eternal kingdom. Amen.

Evening prayer is said at 5pm with the Rev Dom from Tuesday through to Saturday.
