The monthly meeting was opened by Crete, the president. Yvonne, secretary, read the minutes of the last meeting which were signed.

The Harvest Supper is in September and everyone was asked to bring food for the supper. The open topped bus trip will take place on July 23. There will be croquet at Elizabeth's on August 14 at 6pm. The trip up the Fal was cancelled, but those who were going had lunch at Wheal Dream instead.

Pauline Reed gave a demonstration on flowers for the home. Flowers and foliage were arranged in oasis, which has been soaked in water for half-an-hour. Members were told to always put flowers at the back as well as the front and sides and to keep the flowers fresh, water the oasis at least twice a day. A table arrangement for a meal should be kept low. Jennie gave a vote of thanks.

The competition for A Posy of Fresh Flowers: 1, Jean; 2, Sue; 3, Gillian. Refreshments were served by Sally and Pat and the flower arrangements were raffled and won by Gillian, Christine, Jean, Crete, Jennie, Mary and Sue. Yvonne won the raffle and the winner of the flower of the month was won by Yvonne.

There will be no meeting in August so the next meeting is on September 11, which will be a talk by Peter Benbow entitled the River Cober source to the sea. The competition is a short poem, sand and sea. There will be a harvest supper, please bring a friend to this meeting.
