The bells rang to call the congregation to the 11am service on Sunday where the Rev Dom Whitting took the service.

Readers on this morning were Jane and Avril and Colin played the music. Tess arranged the lovely flowers. Mr Whitting asked the congregation to consider these thoughts - summer has begun for many people and especially now as this last week has seen our local schools break up for the holidays - during the coming weeks please pray for all those on holiday, for pupils, parents and teachers, that they may have a refreshing and relaxing time and be kept safe.

The annual church garden fete is this Friday from 7pm on the cricket field in Praze (in the institute in Praze if wet). There will be a children’s fancy dress competition, barbecue, games and stalls including tombola, cakes, bric-a-brac, plants and groceries,.

Thank you for your support at last Friday's Stall on the Plan, which raised £75 for church funds.

A vigil of prayer and reflection, as we commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, will be held on Monday at 8pm in St Crowenna Church, Crowan. The church will mark the centenary by moving from light into darkness, until one candle remains lit. The vigil will include music, scripture, poetry and contemporary reflection. This service precedes the national service at 10pm from Westminster Abbey.
