ST CREWENNA CHURCH, CROWAN: The bells welcomed the congregation to the service on Sunday. The morning service was taken by the Rev Dom Whitting and Wendy. The music on this morning was played by Colin and readers were Christine and Avril. Prayers of intersession were read by Gill. The morning’s offerings were taken by Eric and the sacrament was taken to the altar by Gill and Howard.

Please note that as from Sunday, October 19 the morning service will be at 11.15am.

The silence at six evening service is a service of meditation to which everyone is welcome.

Evening prayer is said at 5pm on Tuesday to Saturday evenings.

Windows into the Old Testament is a course which is proving to be well supported. Is the Old Testament relevant? How can we understand it? What does it all mean?

Come and explore these questions and many more in an informal introduction to the Old Testament.

The group will meet for the six week course on Tuesdays 2-4pm and it will be repeated on Wednesdays 7.30-9.30pm. The course began last week on September 23 and September 24, but are still very happy to see anyone who would like to come along and join in. The church is still collecting used postage stamps for the Leprosy charity, please put them in the container at the back of the church.

A Cornish evening will be held for church funds, in the Praze Institute, on Friday, October 10. There will be a slide show of local Cornish places by Mrs Charman followed by a Cornish supper and a Cornish raffle. During the supper the St Aubyn Singers will perform - Everyone welcome.

CHARITY WALK: Cornwall Hospice Care are holding a charity walk on Saturday. Walkers are asked to meet at Nancegollan Village Hall for the walk at 2pm. Dogs on leads are welcome for the three-four mile walk with leader Wal Keeble. Wal will arrange an interesting tour of the local area before returning to the village hall for tea. There will also be cream teas available, a raffle and the Hospice stall will be selling goods. All donations are for Cornwall Hospice Care incorporating St Julia's Hospice Hayle. NANCEGOLLAN VILLAGE HALL: A Post Office is open on Tuesdays between 10am and 3pm and on Thursdays between 10am and 12.30pm. Confectionary, newspapers and fresh goods can be ordered and Brian will bring these along.

The Florence Quilters meet every Friday between 10am and 3pm at the hall. For enquires contact Margaret Gash.

Carpet Bowls is held every Tuesday at 7pm. The cost is £1.50 per person and new bowlers are very welcome to come along and give it a try.
