BREANEY LUNCH: The normal lunch was held on Saturday. The main course was beef pie with a wide choice of desserts. The next lunch is planned for October 25.

BREANEY CHAPEL: On Sunday morning a reader service was held with Margaret Richardson, prepared by Elaine Harris. Stephanie welcomed everyone to worship and informed us that the profit from last Monday evening's Harvest meal and the sale which followed was £200 and will be sent to World Mission.

The first hymn was “God is here! As we His People”. After prayer there was a brilliant story for the young people. We had repeats of “My God is so big, so strong and so mighty” with Paul Jenkin on the organ and Mary Louise Combellack on flute. The offering was taken up by Anna Harrington.

The Holy Bible readings were from Judges chapter 6 v 36-40 and Luke chapter 11 v 29-32. Way back in history the Jews and Romans persecuted the new believers, today not much has changed, now it is called terrorism. Some countries torture and kill anyone who speaks the name of Jesus Christ, years ago believers would wear a little fish badge to inform others in what they believed, some do still. Prayers of intercession covered a wide range of items.

Esther and family served refreshments and there were three visitors who attended the service. Sunday evening service with Mike Trouson, Paul, Craig and Megan Jenkin supplied the music for singing. What a fascinating evening, from the Exodus as the Egyptian slaves departed to live in God's promised land for them to settle. Tyhey moaned just about everything, they were hungry and yet God fed them with 'manna' for probably 40 years! The Holy Spirit of God wanted them to be true followers, despite the pillar of fire and the column of smoke they still rebelled.

Mike, dealt with the Tabernacle, many extracts of the exploits and history, its story with times of war. Drawings were a form of insight alongside the Holy Bible, Ark of the Covenant is much clearer to us now 'In Christ Alone'.

On Sunday at 10.30am Ken Mills will lead the service and the evening preacher at 6pm is the Rev Stephen Bales.
