Archie Scott, a practising Chiropractor, demystified the term ‘Chiropractic’ at the October meeting.
It is concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculo-skeletal system and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. He explained which aches and pains could be treated by chiropractors and answered members’ questions.
A report was given on the Annual Council Meeting - with inspiring speakers, and where Sue Rayment collected a Certificate of Merit for Germoe WI gaining second place in the Programme Competition - Andrews Rosebowl.
Reminders were given about the Cornish Jam Festival and Craft Fayre at Bodmin on November 25, carol service at Truro Cathedral on December 5, our next Craft and Chatter session on October 28 and the Birthday Lunch on November 18. Items were collected in for the Link to Hope Shoebox appeal, which will be packed up at the end of the month.
The competition for Something Beginning with R: 1, Caroline Wise (Record); 2, Barbara Hayward (Rupert Bear); 3, Gill Thomas (Rose). Next month’s meeting on Tuesday, November 11 will give members the opportunity to have a go at some Christmas crafts.
The competition has reached ‘S’ Members meet on the second Tuesday of the month (except August) in Praa Sands Community Centre at 7.30pm. Visitors and new members always welcome.
