On Sunday morning Sarah Fuller chose to preach about 14 of the worst countries in the world, of the 50 that are listed for persecuting Christians.

This is as a direct result of national television and other media, reporting real life issues from and about the countries involved with minorities.

The service commenced with Graham Kendricks, Shine Jesus Shine, with organist Paul Jenkin, Mary Louise Combellack flute, Treve on drums with Paul Coombs bongos. Children assisted a well thought out visual with Treve drawing a free hand map of the world, Peter and Emily duly helped by holding flip chart paper, whilst Sarah wrote the names of countries in the news mentioned by the congregation. This was news to some and was followed by Treve indicating where that country was on his map, aided and abetted by retired teacher Penny Coomb.

Sarah read from her notes about each of the 14 countries atrocities against human kind.

Children then went downstairs with their leaders.

The call to worship was, You are all sons of the light and sons of the day; we do not belong to the night or the darkness. Since we belong to the day, let us be self controlled putting on Faith and Love. Prayer for the bereaved, imprisoned, those sentenced to death, maimed by machetes or in North Korean slave camps on very small amounts of food to the point of starvation.

The Lord's Prayer followed.

The hymns and songs were on the large screen so that everything was in unison. Peter took up the offering. Youtube.com was used, This little light of mine. Stephanie read from Zephaniah chapter 1 v 7 and 12-18; the Blessing concluded the service.

A short meeting was held immediately after when many suggestions were brought forward for further discussion in the near future.

We are half-way through the month, November 29 will be the last Breaney lunch. Make sure you book with Stephanie 01326 564254! Please note that Breage Christmas lights will be switched-on on Saturday, December 6.
