Breaney Chapel
11:09am Tuesday 24th July 2012 in Breage
Sunday morning was a return to Breage for Pauline Reed, preacher for the service. She was born in the area and lived there until moving to St Ives, with Pastor Bill Reed, her husband. She now lives in Helston in retirement, a local preacher in training. Two assessors were present to report Pauline’s progress!
After some choruses, along came William a Rascal Puppet who was used to help the children unscramble some anagrams. A new song was followed by a prayer for the Sunday school children before they went downstairs; William wanted to go down with them and he did!
After another time of prayer, Luke chapter 15 v 11-32 was read. Following prayers of intersession the very interesting moments of pure nostalgia, linking her childhood, with the Bible account, Pauline involved the working son, way-word son and the waiting father. Later we went down for refreshments/fellowship.
There was no service in the evening because of the farewell service at Marazion Methodist Church for the Rev Stephen and Mrs Jenny Bales shortly to be retiring.
On Sunday there will not be an evening service, the reason is a Circuit service at Helston Methodist Church to say farewell to the Rev Andrew and Mrs Barbara Hill.
