Rain swept into Helston's Flora Day just as the last of the midday dancers made their way back to the Guildhall.
Although the weather held for the majority of the morning's dances - with the children's dance in particular enjoying beautiful, warm spring sunshine - as the midday dance drew to a close the heavens opened.
Light drizzle became full-blown rain, just as weather forecasters had predicted.
The wet weather is unlikely to deter Flora Day revellers however, who have plenty of stalls and the fairground rides to enjoy.
A good number of people are still expected to stay on to watch the evening dance, which leaves the Guildhall at 5pm.
