Another great speaker entertained members at their meeting on October 16. Pam Douglas came to talk about her book 'The May Incident' which is based on her own experiences as a child growing up in Plymouth during the Second World War. She started with how she came to be writing a novel after retirement and the process involved in getting a book published, certainly not an easy task. She then read some excerpts from the book which were very entertaining. The Flower of the Month: 1, Pat Taylor; 2, Eunice Powell; 3, Carol Padgeth. The competition to bring a piece of WWII memorabilia: 1, Judy Hannaford; 2, Pat Collins; four entries were all joint third. The items ID Cards, rations books, medals etc were all very interesting.

AChristmas Coffee Morning will be held on Thursday, November 8 at the Guildhall, and the monthly meeting is on Tuesday, November 20, where we will be improving our photography with David Chapman. New members are always welcome, please come along and join us.
