Pauline Reed led the family service on Sunday morning, although, unfortunately, there were no children present.

However, she showed the congregation various signs to identify, finishing with the Star followed by the Wise Men, and said we should also follow that star. Her sermon was about Jesus’ baptism by John, which was the start of His ministry, although commented that there is very little knowledge of his boyhood. She referred to a chorus sung in Sunday schools in the past, quoting J (Jesus first) O (putting others before) Y (yourself last) – something we might all follow. Nigel Dower played the organ.

The evening service was led by the Rev Beverly Turner. Donations from the acclaimed Angel Experience amounted to £225.39 for church funds and the Christmas Tree of Memory raised £100 for the Mermaid Appeal. A big thank you to all those who worked so hard for these Christmas events.
