The Rev Dorothy Noakes both presided and preached at parish communion on Passion Sunday, assisted by Canon David Miller and the Rev Jane Bradbury.
Maureen Grattan-Kane led the prayers and Betty Booker, lay reader, read the Old Testament lesson from Ezekiel. This, the famous story of the valley of dried bones, formed the basis of the Rev Dorothy’s sermon, although she later brought in the raising of Lazarus and Jesus’ own resurrection, all of which proved that only God gives life. Even as He breathed life into the dry bones, so He does into broken lives and communities, restoring health and faith.
Following parish communion, the annual parish meeting was held in the Andrew Hall.
