Canon David Miller presided at parish communion, assisted by the Rev Dorothy Noakes. Flowers for a wedding had been added to the displays of Easter lilies so, although this Sunday used to be known as “Low Sunday”, the atmosphere continued to be that of joyful festivity.

Betty Booker, lay reader, preached on the implications of Jesus’ resurrection, particularly from the aspect of the disciple Thomas’ initial scepticism to his overwhelming affirmation of Jesus as God. What we see may be flawed, but true believing is the gate to wonderful new life. Rebecca Greenough read the lesson and the organist was Richard Berry.

At All-age Worship and Family Communion at 9.30am on Sunday, the celebrant and preacher will be the Archdeacon of Cornwall, the Ven. Bill Stuart-White.
