After the excitement of our 125th Anniversary weekend, Flora Day and Wesley and Lynn Bowden’s wedding on Saturday, there was a good congregation on Sunday morning when we welcomed Neil Didlick to take the Service.
Tony Massey read the 23rd Psalm from the St James’s version of the Bible, and Mary Jenkings read from St John’s gospel. Neil took both readings as the subject for his sermon, saying that we must all use only the gate opened by the Good Shepherd if we want to be Christ’s followers. The organ was played by Nigel Dower.
In the evening some of the congregation joined the Section Service at Porthleven Chapel. For the anniversary weekend, Betty Pascoe had arranged a fascinating exhibition showing the life of the chapel, including the renovation in 1995, since the building was first erected, up until the present day, which was greatly enjoyed and appreciated.
