METHODIST CHURCH: The Junior Church enjoyed sports on Sunday morning, reflecting on the Feast of Pentecost and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. At the close of the morning service, the congregation was the crowd in the football match sketch, before Fathers’ Day gifts were shared. On Sunday, the music workshop will use the samba rhythm to accompany songs. This year’s annual Celebration of Music in Worship will take place on July 20, with something for everyone. Donations would be welcome towards the work of the charity Action for Children within Cornwall.

The Church Fellowship group who meet on Wednesday afternoons are taking a break for the summer and will resume in September On Thursday the Yoga class meet in the Sunday schoolroom at 2.30pm - new members are welcome. On Friday, June 20 at 1pm it will be the Hands Together Prayer Hour in the Sunday schoolroom.

On Saturday, June 21 between 10.30am and noon, At Home with the Besleys will be taking place at The Stables, Trenerth, Fraddam. There will be refreshments, a cake stall, bring-and-buy Stall and an opportunity to buy knitwear for the Christmas Shoebox appeal. Proceeds are for chapel funds. Sunday June 22, will see Louise Luing take the 11am service and Junior Church is also at 11am in the Sunday schoolroom.

DUKE OF LEEDS: The village said goodbye last week to Emma and Stuart who had been in charge of the village pub and the welcomed the new landlords, Anthony and Donna who have moved in with baby Amelia. They will be serving food from this weekend and also have rooms to rent available. There will be a weekly quiz evening beginning Thursday, June 26. Entry will be £1 per person and everyone entering will receive a raffle ticket which will be drawn at the end of the evening. After answering a question correctly the winner may chose a key which might open the box, where the entry money from the evening is kept. If the key does not turn, the money rolls over until next week. Everyone is very welcome to come along and join in.
