METHODIST CHURCH: On Tuesdays between 10am and noon, the Coffee Stop invites everyone for a drink and a chat in the Sunday schoolroom. There are pre-owned books for sale for chapel funds. On Thursday the Yoga Class meets in the Sunday schoolroom at 2pm and new members are welcome. On Friday at 1pm, the Hands Together Prayer Hour is held in the Sunday schoolroom. On Sunday at 11am, the morning service will be taken by the Rev Harry Chant. The Junior Church will be visiting Breaney Methodist Church for All Age Worship. The flower arrangements will be the gift of Mrs J Lamerton.

Congratulations to our District Chairman, the Rev Steve Wild, who has been elected to be the President of the Methodist Conference from July 2015.

The Lizard and Mounts Bay Circuit has asked that each chapel opens from 10.30am until 4pm on Monday, August 4, which is the first day of hostilities of the Great War. This is so that anyone who wishes to do so can come in to pray or reflect in their own way. Leedstown United Methodist Church hope to go a step further and have displays of World War1 items, photographs (especially those that depict those working on the Home Front) special flowers, music and refreshments.

VILLAGE HALL: Ann Williams, who teaches Line Dancing will be coming with a group of about 15 dancers to demonstrate then teach the children and willing parents some dancing. There will be pasties and refreshments. They aim to start at 6pm and finish by 8pm on Friday. Leedstown Primary School would love for as many people to come as possible to be a real community event. Tickets are £1 for children or £1.50 including a pasty, and £2 for adults or £2.50 including a pasty. Tickets are available on the night but must be paid for in advance if pasties are required. LEEDSTOWN SCHOOL: Outdoor learning is used as much as possible at the school, subjects are linked wherever possible to the outdoors. This week, the school have had a large yurt put up on the field as an outdoor classroom. This is courtesy of our friends at Meadow Yurts in Townshend.
