There was no monthly meeting in August.
At the beginning of August a group of ladies went on a day trip to Launceston. The weather did not disappoint and the ladies enjoyed visits to the castle and museum, followed the Town Trail and meandered around the local shops. The local cafes benefited as we enjoyed lunch and afternoon tea.
An unexpected bonus to our trip was a visit to the excellent Quilting and Embroidery Exhibition at the Methodist Church.
In the middle of August we enjoyed a lovely summer evening at a barbecue at Sue Smith’s home. Delicious salads, burgers and sausages were provided as well as delicious desserts. Lesley and Carole, our hardworking president and secretary, were the cooks and the salads were made by members of the committee.
At the end of August a group of ladies had a night out at The Queens Arms at Breage
