Godolphin Cross Methodists Members attended the Annual Covenant service at Breany Methodist Chapel last Sunday which was conducted by the Rev Beverly Turner. Next Sunday the preacher will be Mrs Ruby Brown from Leedstown.

Primary School At the start of the new term headteacher Lucy Wandless reminded parents that they are welcome to come in and chat with her as she is always interested in their ideas, concerns and suggestions. There was also a reminder about parking outside the school, making sure that dies care and consideration was given to neighbours access and pedestrian safety and that the pub has offered parking so as to alleviate the pressure outside the school.

The whole school attendance for the Autumn Term was 94.67 per cent. Unfortunately there were a lot of children off with sickness just before Christmas and this had a significant impact on whole school attendance. Lucy states she will continue to work with Governors and the Education Welfare Officer to monitor and improve attendance and ask for support in ensuring the children are in school on time each day.

The Emerald Class children have settled in well after their Christmas break. They are learning about the Arctic - what it is like there, comparing it to the UK and what school there might be like. They will also be learning about communication through letters and emails.

The theme for the Diamond Class will be Around the World, based loosely on the Jules Verne novel 'Around The World in 80 Days'. They will be finding out about London, Egypt, India, Hong Kong, Japan, San Francisco and New York. They would welcome any named photographs and artefacts that would support their learning.

Sapphire Class began the new term with the historical unit titles 'Fever, Fire and Fashion' which focuses on everyday life in London during the 17th century. They will also study the impact of the Plague and Great Fire on the city and its people.

World War Two will be the topic for the year six pupils in Zircon Class. Many aspects of the war will be covered with visits from World War Two veterans.

Little Dolphins Pre-school It is a warm welcome to Little Dolphins new manager Josie Hack who resides at Coverack Bridges with her husband and four children. Having previously managed a pre-school she assures everyone that the children's safety, happiness and learning is paramount to her. She is at your disposal for any chat or questions you may have.

At the start of the spring term Jenny, Jack, Faye, Luella, Lennox and Jennifer were welcomed to pre-school.

The children will be learning about the various areas of transport. There will be a lot of outdoor play with bikes etc and the making of boats and submarines and ever rockets and spaceships!
