Mrs Irene Sampson, a local preacher in training, led the most enjoyable morning worship on Sunday. She took the Wedding at Cana as her theme, reading the story from St John's Gospel and making it the subject of her sermon. Nigel Dower played the organ for the well- known chosen hymns.
In the afternoon members of the congregation joined the Ecumenical Service at St Michael's for The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, which was led by Mrs Julie Swann.
On Friday evening an auction of unwanted Christmas gifts was held, with a soup and sweet supper. A total of £300.30 was the net profit raised for chapel funds, and thanks were offered Mrs Margaret Flinders, who stepped in for the auctioneer at the last moment, and to all those who supported.
