St Michael's Church, Helston

Canon David Miller presided at parish communion, assisted by the Rev Dorothy Noakes, who also preached the sermon.

Her text was from Mark’s gospel, at a point when Jesus, by His actions and teaching, was causing alarm not only among the religious establishment, but also His own family, who feared for His health, physical and mental. Jesus responded fearlessly that God accepts all who do His will and that the unpardonable sin is to refuse God’s forgiveness. Diane Barlow read the lesson and Paul Benyon led prayers. Junior Church heard about the amazing story of Joseph, his jealous brothers and how all was well in the end. At the end of the service the congregation sang “Happy Birthday” to Christopher aged 7, and to Prince Philip aged 91!
