UNITED FC: Calling all parents of 7-13 years old youngsters - Do they play for a team and come home afterwards sad? Do they just kick a ball around by themselves? Are they unhappy at their current club? Do they just get under your feet at weekends? If you answered YES to any of those questions then on Saturday between 9am-noon bring them to Leedstown Utd FC - where they put the "FUN" back into football !
The open day is to be held on Saturday where you can sign up for a Football Club who put children of all abilities first. There are fully FA qualified coaches, who all hold CRB checks. The club specialise in fair football training for all the children, and have first class facilities. If you are unable to attend on this date contact Nigel Griffiths on 07934131710.
CPS: The children’s sports day has been badly affected by the weather and had to be held on the first sunny day after two planned events were cancelled. The school was proud of the effort children put in and the way they conducted themselves at the Joseph Production at Hayle school earlier this month. Well done everyone especially "Joseph" Millie Sames and "brother" Daniel. The last day of term is a toy and non-uniform day for the children on July 20. The new autumn school term stars on Tuesday, September 4.
HAPPY FEET PRE SCHOOL: End of term treats have been enjoyed by the children and summer sports day activities were held in the school hall. There was a leaver’s party for those moving on to Class 1 next term.
VILLAGE HALL: On Sunday, July 29, 2pm-4.30pm, there will be a Cream Tea at Mayfield, Praze Road, Leedstown. Everyone is invited to come along and enjoy homemade jam and scones and a lovely cup of tea. There will be a raffle as well as a bring-and-buy stall, in aid of village hall funds.
LUMC: The morning service at 11am on Sunday will be a service of holy communion led by the Rev David Pountain. Junior Church meet in the Sunday schoolroom at 11am and Elsie Balme will be taking the 6pm service at Leedstown Chapel.
Melville, Pam and Carol Morse are holding a cream tea on Saturday, July 21, from 2.30pm at their home, 21 Fore Street, Praze to raise funds for the chapel. There will be tea, homemade jam and scones, raffle, cake stall and books for sale.
GCG HOSPICE SUPPORT GROUP: There is an open garden at Homefield, Pilgrim Way, Fraddam, Hayle on Sunday, July 22. The garden is open between 2.30pm-4.30pm. This small enchanted garden is divided into "rooms" filled with colour and interest, including water features and a Pompelian Oven, there are also small lawns and seating areas and a host of beautiful and extensive plants. The entry charge is £3.50 which includes refreshments and there will be plants for sale, cake stall and a Hospice stall.
AUTUMN SHOW: The classes for gardens, hanging baskets and containers are to be judged this month. The cost to enter these classes is 50p, and forms are available from the Post Office or Mr and Mrs Christophers at Ros-an-Brea, Praze Road, Leedstown (01736 850315).
