The family service on Sunday was taken by the Rector, the Rev Lesley Walker.

The church remained decorated from the previous weekend’s harvest celebrations, which had been added to for the marriage of Carrie Ann Millar to Andrew David Mitchell, which took place on Saturday. The Rector started the service discussing the Saints as recognised by the Catholic and Anglican churches but later went on to talk in detail of the Cornishman, Henry Martin, whose talent for languages and missionary experience in India led him to translate the scriptures into several languages. He was considered a saint by many and his life is celebrated on October 19 every year. The lesson was read by Pauline Arnold and the organ was played by Andrew Woods.

On Sunday afternoon Lindsay Hockley, churchwarden, gave a conducted tour of the church answering numerous questions on the history and architecture of the Grade I listed building. Cream teas were available all afternoon. The service on Sunday at 9.30am will be a eucharist celebrated by the Rector.
