BALWEST METHODIST CHURCH: The leading of morning worship on Sunday was shared by Bob Markley of St Keverne and the Rev John Hibberd, one of the leaders of the Walk Cornwall 2 Mission. Guest accompanist was Ken Jones of Camborne and flowers were given and arranged by Kate Boston.

After the service members of the congregation were joined by the minister, the Rev Beverley Turner. The mission speaker who had attended worship at Kenneggy Methodist Church and some of the members of their congregation also came along and all sat down for a lovely lunch prepared and served by members of the church.

ASHTON CHURCH: On Saturday, to celebrate the Feast of St Matthew, there was a service of holy communion. The celebrant was the Rev Peter Johnson, Bevan Osborne read the epistle and Father read the gospel.

The first of the four monthly meetings of the benefice study and discussion group, being held between September and December on the third Monday of each month at 7pm, took place on September 16. The next meeting will be on October 21 at 7pm. On Friday, October 4 there will be a Book of Common Prayer service of holy communion at 9.30am.
