BALWEST METHODIST CHURCH: The harvest thanksgiving weekend proved to be a happy and successful time. The chapel was beautifully decorated by members and friends, who were grateful for all the gifts of produce. The morning service on Sunday was conducted by Rachel Carbis of Ruan High Lanes. This was followed by a toast lunch served in the schoolroom.

On Monday evening nine teams took part in the mini quiz. The quiz master was Dennis Oram. The Margaret Nicholls Memorial Cup for the winning team was the “Still Here” team.

At the conclusion of the quiz auctioneers Alan and Jeremy auctioned the produce. Thanks are extended to all who helped in any way to make the weekend enjoyable.

On Monday the Churches Together around Tregonning Group will be serving coffee and soup in the schoolroom from 10am to 12.30pm in aid of Mary’s Meals. There will be a Traidcraft stall and a bring-and-buy stall.
