The eucharist service on Sunday, Christ the King, was celebrated by the Rector, the Rev Lesley Walker.
In her sermon she contrasted the interpretations of a King, from the King on a throne with a crown, through rulers and leaders to Christ on the Cross. Jesus was sent to be a shepherd, gathering and caring for us. What began on the cross is still happening and will happen forever. The Cross is not a throne but is where we look to for our Lord and God. Lessons were read by Wendy Bailey and the Rector.
The service on Sunday at 11.15am will be a family service for the first Sunday in Advent taken by the Rev Heather Aston.
