The eucharist service on Sunday was celebrated by the Rector, the Rev Lesley Walker. Referring to the gospel reading, her sermon discussed the different ways and speeds that people close to Jesus came to believe.

John believed instantly when he saw the empty tomb, Peter hesitated but then entered, Mary took a little longer and needed sight of the risen Lord and Thomas could not accept without seeing and touching the wounds. They all went on to bear witness to their faith. We are all called to witness but everyone will be different in their reactions and timing. We should be patient and God will help us but we may never know how successful we have been.

The lessons were read by Wendy Bailey and the Rev Heather Aston, who also led the intercessions.

The service on Sunday at 11.15am will be a family service taken by the Rev Heather Aston.
