The eucharist service on Good Shepherd Sunday was celebrated by the Rector, the Rev Lesley Walker.
Her sermon discussed the relationship between sheep and the shepherd. Sheep will not lie down and relax unless they feel completely safe and the role of the shepherd in Bible times was to put the sheep at their ease, care for them, gain their trust and lead them. This is described in the 23rd Psalm and if we can establish a relationship of trust with Jesus as our Good Shepherd then we can learn to trust in God who walks with us through everything.
The lessons were read by Mary Wood and the Rev Heather Aston, who also led the intercessions.
The service on Sunday at 11.15am will be morning prayer taken by the Rev Heather Aston.
