MAWGAN PARISH CHURCH: The family service on Sunday was taken by the Rev Heather Aston. With Ascension last week she reflected on the many forms of goodbye. In the reading from Acts Jesus reminded his disciples that they would not be left alone when he left earth as he would be with his father in heaven, still alive and reigning everywhere, all the time. The lessons were read by Lindsay Hockley and the Rev Aston, and the organ was played by Andrew Woods The service at the church on Sunday, Pentecost, will be a eucharist at 9.30am celebrated by the Rev Sharon Chalcraft.

MAWGAN FEAST WEEK: Sunday is the start of Mawgan Feast Week and there will be a service of thanksgiving at Mawgan War Memorial, taken by the Rev Heather Aston, at 6.30pm. This will be followed at 7pm by a free concert by the Gweek Silver Band at Mawgan Recreation Hall. On Monday night at 7.30pm the Trengilly Singers will be performing at Mawgan Church with guest soloists Richard Collington (guitar) and Charlotte Firth (soprano).
