BALWEST METHODIST CHURCH: On Sunday morning there was a special service for One World Week. The service was led by Jeremy Boston, assisted by his sons Oliver and Joel. Music for the service was provided by friends from Breage Band.

The band had recently been saddened by the sudden unexpected death at a young age of a fellow member, Matt Wicken. As a very moving tribute to Matt, Deep Harmony was played and Gillian Allen sounded the Last Post and Reveille.

The Traidcraft staff was available after the service in the schoolroom.

ASHTON CHURCH: The celebrant at the service of holy communion on Saturday morning, the Feast of St Luke, was Canon Michael Porteus. Bevan Osborne read the epistle. The gospel was read by Canon Michael and Bevan was sidesman.

Evensong on Sunday was led by the Rev Len Jepp. Malcolm Hersee read the lessons, Bevan Osborne was sidesman and organist was Margaret Goldsworthy.

LION & LAMB: The Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, November 29. During the course of the evening there will be a formal presentation of the monies raised at various events towards the defibrillator being provided in the village.
