The eucharist service on Sunday was celebrated by the Rev Heather Aston. Her sermon was based on the readings, in particular the commandment to love our neighbour as our self.

All the peoples of the world are our neighbours and we should love and help one another as Jesus loves us. Lessons were read by Wendy Bailey and the Rev Heather Aston.

Next weekend there are two services on Sunday, a eucharist at 11.15am celebrated by the Rev Heather Aston and a Commemoration of the Departed at 6.30pm, taken by the Rev Heather Aston with the Rector the Rev Lesley Walker as preacher. There is a list in the church of people to be particularly remembered and their names will be read out during the service. Anyone is welcome to add the names of people they would like included.

Anyone still wishing to visit the “Aspects of War”, First World War Centenary Commemoration Display in Mawgan Church, which is open daily during daylight hours, have until Friday, November 7 when the display will be moved to Mawgan Recreation Hall to be displayed there on Remembrance Sunday (November 9), and then be stored until next year.

More will be added to the display during the next four years and if anyone has material in any form, particularly about farming and the home front, that they would like to contribute please contact Lindsay Hockley on 01326 221740.
