METHODIST CHURCH: On Sunday Sybil Benney led the fellowship service telling us about Romania, she also played for the hymns. Don & Fran Bettle were welcomed back; Jose Trounson talked about the Shoeboxes for Romania; Christopher Trounson collected the offering and flowers were provided by Pene Oates. After the service members enjoyed coffee served by Ann and Jose and then got down to the business of packing several boxes of gifts for Romania. On Sunday the appointed Preacher is Mr H Trezise. The next family service is on Sunday, November 4 with Mrs S Richards.
VILLAGE HALL: On Thursday its eyes down at 7.30pm for Cash Bingo - licensed bar, raffle and refreshments, all welcome. On Friday there is a Cornish Evening for the Cury Tower/Bell Project starting at 7.30pm with singing Group War-an-Dour - Pasty supper (to be ordered by Thursday 6pm from Brenda, 01326240889 cost £2). Also there will be a Droll Teller telling stories about Cornwall - free entry. On Tuesday there will be a spooky atmosphere about the village hall when witches, young and old, rats, etc converge on it for the Halloween disco evening at 7pm. There are prizes for fancy dress and best pumpkin - licensed bar and raffle, fancy dress optional. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: On Thursday, November 1 Jill Keeble will be demonstrating icing Christmas cakes at 7.15pm in the village hall. Visitors always welcome.
CHURCH: On Saturday, November 3 there is the Annual Holly Fair from 2pm -4pm - refreshments and raffle. On Friday there is the Cornish Evening.
