SNOOKER CLUB: On Friday evening the club held their prize presentation and “Friendly” knock-out competition. Members were informed of the sad loss earlier in the day of Melville Stephens, a long time stalwart of the Mullion Snooker Club and more recently a member of Cury Snooker Club.

A Pasty supper was enjoyed part way through the evening before the presentation and the final of the “Friendly” Knock-out.

Richard Lake, chairman, was the eventual winner of the knock-out beating Richard Mitchell after some very close and hard fought games in the preceding matches.

Richard Lawrance presented prizes to the following winners and runners-up - Brian Williams Shield: Richard Lake; Richard Lake Trophy: Nick Butterill; Jock Barnecutt 1 Frame Knock-out: Gary Tresidder; Knock-Out Cup: Malcolm Barnecutt; Highest Club competition break: Nick Butterill 27; Highest League Break: Malcolm Barnecutt 28.

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: On Thursday, May 2 at 7.15pm members will discuss Resolutions, new members are always welcome to attend meetings.

METHODIST CHURCH: Mr R Archbold was the preacher on Sunday morning. The offering was collected by Christopher Trounson, accompanist was Sybil Benney and flowers provided by Marian Jennings.

On Sunday the appointed preacher is Mr W Reed.
