METHODIST CHURCH: On Sunday members of the church visited the home of Freda Lane where they celebrated the feast of Pentecost at their fellowship service.

Readings were read by Jose Trounson, Marian Jennings, Pene Oates, Sybil Benney and Ann Gendall. Freda was thanked for her hospitality.

Members have been invited to the parish church on Sunday at 9.30am to join them in celebrating 60 years of service to the Anglican Church by the Rev John Palmer. Therefore there will be no service at the chapel and the next service will be the family service on June 2 at 11amorganised by Marian Jennings.

VILLAGE HALL: The Cornish quiz night on Saturday which was organised by Jadine Hocking, who is busy raising funds for her year in Thailand volunteering with Project Trust, was quite well attended. The eventual winners were Oggy, Oggy, Oggy aka John, Sheila and Ross Hocking. Jadine explained that she will be staying in the North of Thailand and when possible she will stay in touch with all the people and organisations who have helped her to raise the funds to go there. She thanked everyone for their help.

Future events: Thursday, 7.30pm, eyes down for cash prize bingo. Sunday, Annual Bank Holiday Barbecue, 7pm–9pm. Entertainment by The Cornish Wurzells supported by Nightchasers Disco from 7pm–Midnight.

Our new floor has now been completed and is looking really wonderful thanks to grants from the Goonhilly Wind Farm, Cory Environmental and some funding from our own resources.
