VILLAGE HALL: The hall was rather creepy on Thursday evening for the Monsters and Ghouls evening organised by Phil Greet and the committee. The children dressed in a variety of costumes which proved very difficult for the judges Jeanette Dodd and Brenda Lawrance to pick a winner. Every child deserved to win but unfortunately some have to be disappointed.

First prize winners were – U4: James Hunt; 5–7: Edward Boaden; 8–11: Riley Tipper. In the adults Fancy Dress Kerry Curnow was the winner. Pumpkin: 1, Harriet Curnow; 2, Delilah Tiffin; 3, Chase/Lacey Bell.

Thank you to Phil and Kyle Greet for providing the music and organising the games and to Jeanette and Mike for running the bar.

The next big event will be the Christmas Lights Switch-on, on December 1. Following this the Grand Draw will take place. Squares are available to buy at any of the hall functions or on a Thursday morning from 9-11am at £1 each.

On Saturday afternoon the hall was busy for the Annual Holly Fair organised by Pene and Priscilla Oates for the Church Tower and Bell Fund. Various stalls were run by organisations in the village and individuals. A profit of approximately £220 was made. Thanks were expressed by Priscilla to everyone who helped to make the afternoon a success.

CHURCH: On Sunday the Remembrance service will commence at 9.15am. We look forward to welcoming you all.

METHODIST CHURCH: Sue Bennetts took the family service on Sunday morning. The offering was collected by Edward and Lucy Boaden; accompanist was Sybil Benney and flowers provided by Kerry Curnow.

CHAPEL: There will be no service on Sunday as we are joining the Church for the Remembrance service at 9.15am. We are hoping to arrange a Candlelit Carol Service for December 10 at 7pm.
