Members, carers and volunteers had a wonderful Christmas lunch at The Mounts Bay Inn, Mullion.

The occasion is much appreciated by everyone, especially for some as it is their only opportunity to go out for a meal and also for those who do not have families nearby around the festive period it enables them to enjoy lots of company with good food, good music and a jolly good natter reminiscing tales of their childhood. A time when Christmas was a very different matter, for some having experienced it before and during the war where shortages meant ingenious meals were made up by parents and perhaps one gift each for the children. Many stories flowed relating the first time an orange was eaten and nuts found in the bottom of their Christmas stocking.

For the members this lunch was the highlight of the year. The funding that enabled this to take place was awarded by the Cornwall Rural Community Council through the Memory Café/Dementia Support Group Grant.
